History of Us Weekly
Us Weekly is a weekly celebrity and entertainment magazine that was formed in 1977 and based in New York City. Initially, the magazine had begun losing money before finally turning a profit in the year 1980. The success began to snowball as viewership grew, and publication numbers went from posting monthly, to weekly in 1999. While still maintaining its original source material such as entertainment, beauty, and news, the magazine found a foothold in the glamour that is celebrity life and the drama that follows.
