About John Madden Tribute

"JOHN MADDEN TRIBUTE: The King of Modern FootballnnApril 10, 1936-December 28, 2021nnNo one defined modern pro football like John Madden. As a coach, he retired from the NFL with the highest winning percentage (75.9%) of any coach with more than 100 career victories. His career record against coaches in the Pro Football Hall of Fame was an unbelievable 36-16-2. As a broadcaster, he worked more than 500 NFL games, including 11 Super Bowls. He called games for all four major American TV Networks—CBS, NBC, ABC and Fox—and won 16 Sports Emmy Awards. His namesake video game ranks within the Top 5 all time of sports video games sold, and is played and enjoyed by generations of fans, including many modern NFL players. The story of his life is so perfectly intertwined with the evolution of modern football that the two things are essentially one and the same. “Nothing jazzes me up like football,” he once said. “I’ve acquired more passion over the years, not less. Not to love it wouldn't make sense.” The same was true of John Madden."
