DiscountLock renews on the anniversary of the term you bought from us, counted from your DiscountMags order date. We email you 30 days and 7 days before the renewal processes.
When the renewal processes
| Subscription type | Renewal processes |
|---|---|
| Print, 1 year or longer | 83 days before the end of the term you bought from us |
| Print, less than 1 year | 38 days before the end of the term you bought from us |
| Digital | 13 days before the end of the term you bought from us |
Example: you order a 1-year print subscription on July 1. The term you bought runs to the following July 1, so the renewal processes 83 days before that, in early April. The exact date for each subscription is listed on your DiscountLock page.
Your renewal date follows your order, not your mailing label
The expiration date printed on your magazine label is often later than the term you bought from us, because the publisher adds every order to the end of whatever subscription you already had. DiscountLock cannot see that publisher date, so it renews on your order anniversary. That is why a renewal can process while your label still shows months, or even years, to run.
Renewing early never costs you anything. The new term is added to the end of your current one, so nothing is shortened and you get no duplicate issues. You also lock in today's discounted price before the publisher's next increase, which is exactly why some customers renew early on purpose.
Rather wait?
Check the expiration date on your magazine label, then open your DiscountLock page to delay the renewal or set the exact date you want it to process. You can also turn DiscountLock off for that subscription entirely.
